With Sympathy

I try to make sympathy cards on a regular basis for my church to use. They appreciate the home-made touch at times like this. It's a rather large church membership so staying on top is not always easy... There were a number of passings in the past few week, and because I knew one of the families affected, I wanted to make a separate card from our family. A woman who sings on the same praise team as I do lost her father just before Easter, so this card was for her. I used the Leaf Prints wheel with VersaMark ink and chalk to create the background. The focal image is also VersaMark and chalk. This simple technique, called Poppin' Pastels, creates a very soft look, perfect for this card. Just ink the stamp in Versamark and stamp. Then use a cotton swab or cotton ball to dust the desired chalk colours over the VersMark and watch that image emerge or pop! This set is Close as a Memory, from the main catalogue. Remember this technique when you need a soft look - it's so pretty.
