Birthday Impressions

I showed a couple of groups this technique recently. It's dry embossing, and thanks to an expensive machine out there that a lot of people received for Christmas, it's made a huge resurgence. I don't own the expensive machine, but do like the look you can achieve. The one group I was showing this technique to was going to be numbering around 15 or so, so I needed to keep the card fairly simple. We used the Shapes Classy Brass template to emboss the dots in a random pattern at the top, and the scalloped edge at the bottom. Some of the guests there chose flowers or other shapes to emboss. That's the great thing about these templates - there are a ton of options. And their heavy-duty quality makes them a crafting heirloom to pass on. If the template had been turned the other way up, the edge would have like a postage stamp pattern. Two patterns for one - gotta like it. The gift bags come from the Girlfriends Accessories stamp set. The bags are coloured with markers, and then a little dazzling diamonds glitter to really 'gift' them up. The bags are cut out and raised up on a stampin' dimensional. The greeting comes from the Pretty Princess set, and we used a marker and the omitting technique for it. Now I just need to find a little girl, or someone young at heart, to give it to!
