Dramatic Petals

This is another Petals & Paisley card, cause the set has really grown on me - and I taught that class in March featuring this set and 6 different designs. This card is definitely inspired by this card by Cambria Turnbow. The colours were very striking, I thought. As part of the 1 set, 6 options class, I wanted to show a few techniques in there too, so my card features the same colours as Cambria's card, but a different technique: poppin' pastels. We simply inked the flower stamp in Versamark ink and then dusted over it with chalks. The white front is layered on a black top-folded layer. Don't you love the slot punch detail the red band slides through? Very clever! This card is 5 x 5. I don't venture away from the standard size often, but this was fun and I'll have to consider it more often - some stamps challenge me on the regular size, and maybe it's just that I need a square instead... And, of course, SU! sells envelopes to accomodate this size.
