Make and Take Fun
One of the best things about attending Stampin' Up! events, in addition to the friendship, inspiration, and business tips has to be the make and takes.
I actually lead one of the make and takes for my upline, Joanne's full team meeting. I chose a masculine looking design because I suspected that demonstrators were coming up with lots of flowery, girly ideas for the set and I wanted to show its versatility. I had done up this card for the 6 cards/1 set class I offered in March. It had gone over well there, so it was an easy choice for this event, too.
The card is Buckaroo Blue and Chocolate Chip and uses the paisley stamp, the polka dot stamp and the sentiment from the Polka Dots & Paisley set which appears in the spring mini. Check out the link to the left, if you haven't seen the mini yet. We also used the Canvas background stamp, a white gel pen, caramel gingham and LOTS of sponging.
This card was presented by my sideline, Carolyn. She's a beautiful stamper and her class ideas always inspire me. This card also features the Polka Dots & Paisley set and she's incorporated the new punches on this one. The Round Tab punch is used for the "friend" tab sticking out at the right. The Spiral punch is used down the left side, and by using my fingers to curl the little pieces, it does look as though it were torn from a notebook. We used the co-ordinating wheel, Petals, to create the background, and sponged a lot on this card as well.
